Oonagh Williams of Royal Temptations, to offer monthly cooking classes at G. M. Roth's showroom

Award-winning Design Showrooms of G. M. Roth Design Remodeling Inc. of Nashua (established for more than 20 years) in conjunction with Award-winning TV Chef/Instructor, Oonagh Williams of Royal Temptations, will be offering monthly cooking classes at Roth's newly located showroom at 12 Murphy Drive, in Nashua (exit 5, off N.E. Boulevard, road opposite True Value Belletetes Hardware).

Classes are open to the public but class size is limited and pre-registration and pre-payment for each class is required by contacting G.M. Roth at 603-880-3761. All classes will be held in our new Showroom Kitchen. Imagine this in your home. When you arrive you can socialize while enjoying a prepared appetizer before the class starts or take a tour of the showrooms.

During the classes, relax while you learn how to easily prepare delicious real food from scratch so you can make these dishes again at home using the full recipes provided.

Chef Oonagh believes in the minimum of dirty dishes, ingredients within your budget and no difficult to find ingredients. End a fun and informative evening by enjoying the dishes demonstrated. No dish is too spicy or 'strange'. Flavors are meant to compliment each other.

Classes can be customized for a group booking - ladies night out, couples night in, wedding shower etc. Lunchtime group classes can be arranged.

The first classes will be in September, October and November 2006. There will be no class in December as life is too crazy for everyone.

2006 Class Schedule

Thursday 14 September 2006
6-9 pm at a cost of $50 per person. To celebrate the apple picking season the entire menu will be based around apples
  • Mildly curried creamy squash and apple soup
  • Normandy Chicken- skinless/boneless breast of chicken cooked in an onion/garlic, apple and hard apple cider sauce. You will also sample hard apple cider.
  • Individual French Apple Tarte Tatin - sliced apples with a butter, maple syrup and bourbon glaze topped by puff pastry and 'flipped'. So easy when you know the secret ingredient.
Thursday 12 October 2006
6-9pm at a cost of $50 per person. Our Own 'Oktoberfest'. Chef Oonagh has been presenting an Oktoberfest for more than five years as part of her series in Lithuanian cooking.
  • Pork cooked with apples, onions and beer. Meat cooked in beer is a European classic. Raspberry beer in cooking is a wonderful taste sensation tasted by Chef Oonagh at a Belgian restaurant in London, England. It also marries well with red cabbage.
  • Sauerkraut. Not just the canned stuff but cooked with onions, apples, bacon, and juniper berries to mellow sweetness.
  • Potato Pancakes. Make life easier on yourself. You no longer need to stand grating raw potatoes for potato pancakes. Start with the deliberate leftover of mashed potatoes, add some extra ingredients and enjoy pancakes that are crunchy on the outside and soft and creamy inside. Kids love them.
  • Raspberry Almond Tart . Rich shortbread style crust, filled with raspberry preserves and topped with an almond cake batter and sliced almonds. Looks as if you slaved for hours or paid a fortune to a European Patisserie.
Thursday 9 November 2006
6-9pm at a cost of $50 per person. New ideas for Thanksgiving.
  • Sweet Potato Casserole Creamy sweet potatoes with butter, sugar and eggs, topped by a pecan streusel. This can be prepared the night before Thanksgiving and baked on the day. Make sure to get a serving as it disappears in an instant.
  • Turkey Breast Cutlets with a corn, bacon and craisin stuffing in a wine, cream and mushroom sauce.
  • Pumpkin mini bundts. Chef Oonagh is happiest when all cake ingredients go in the bowl at the same time to save time and mistakes. Enjoy a sweet, spicy pumpkin bread that is great with cream cheese for breakfast or anytime after Thanksgiving as well as freezing well.
